Frequently Asked Questions

These attempt to answer the most common community questions

What is the relationship between this project and G3?

This project uses the same system invented by Richard Egan and Richard John. The players will look very similar, the maths surrounding the game will be similar. The Project will not be continuing on from Season 40, coaches will make new teams in each league and will start at season 1.

Do Richard Egan and Richard John endorse this evolution of the game?

Yes, although they are not involved in the project in any way, they have given their blessing for us to use their intellectual property to make the next instalment of the game we all loved deeply. We are hugely grateful for this, it means a great deal and we are determined to make a game the Rich's would be proud of. What did someone once say about 'great power'?

When will it be 'live'?

We are building the game from scratch, so it will take some development time. Alix and Simon are working hard on this and we hope to have it launching early next year, around Spring 2026. We will update the mailing list and this website with news as it happens.

How many leagues will be created?

This will depend on how many coaches subscribe to the game, but we look to set up three leagues initially and go from there, although this may change on the number of subscribers, again we will publish numbers on the mailing list and this site. Unlike G3 there will be no hierarchy across the leagues and no affinity teams.

Will the G3 Community get a say on the development of the new game?

Absolutely, we will hold online seminars on the new game and send out surveys to get as much feedback as possible. The game is the community, your input is actively encouraged. Obviously we cannot promise to make every tiny change or adjustment, but any popular changes will be looked at and implemented if we can code it.
